A beautifully timeworn French hand-quilted cotton quilt dating to the mid-19th century. Featuring a delicate faded floral design in soft madder reds and indigo blues against an ivory ground, the quilt displays the wonderful puckered texture that only generations of use can create.
Rich in character, the quilt bears signs of its long history, including areas of wear, small losses and a historic alteration to the reverse where the original backing has been removed. These imperfections only enhance its authentic rustic charm.
Perfect draped over a sofa, folded at the end of a bed or displayed as a decorative textile in a French country interior.
