A charming French oil painting on board depicting Rue Saint-Pavin de la Cité in the heart of the historic Cité Plantagenêt, Le Mans.
Executed in a wonderfully atmospheric palette of soft greys, warm ochres and muted blues, the artist beautifully captures the quiet character and timeless architecture of one of the city’s oldest streets.
The reverse is inscribed ‘Rue Saint-Pavin de la Cité (Vieux Mans)’, and the painting can still be matched to the historic street today, making it a wonderful record of one of Le Mans’ most atmospheric medieval lanes.
